Ghostfood, from Brantford, Ontario, Canada is a collaboration project by Josh St. Denis and Rob Michalchuk. Ghostfood started in April 2007 after the dissolving of a three piece group which Josh and Rob were a part of called Broken Leg Ensemble, the other member was Greg Forsyth. The name Ghostfood took their two separate solo projects Ghostbitch (Josh St. Denis) and Food (Rob Michalchuk) and melded it together calling it Ghostfood. The name Ghostfood was only used originally as a temporary moniker but has since stayed.

Ghostfood's sound is derived from Rob's eerie shrill sound of his alto saxophone and various effect pedals and Josh's manipulation of a mixer with multiple effect pedals and contact mics. Integration of panflute, recorder and hard drive platters is sometimes used by Rob as well. Sometimes found sound is used in the background of their recordings.

Early in the groups start they played many shows within their local area of South Western Ontario. Now the group plays less often since Josh's move to Hamilton, Ontario. It was decided not to end the group but to only come out of hiatus every now and then.

Ghostfood still releases new material that is culled from a large amount of sessions that were held in August and September 2007 before Josh's move to Hamilton. The only exception being a tape from Black and Purple that is a split tape with I Died and Ghostfood. Ghostfood's recording on this tape was recorded after the move in Hamilton, Ontario.

Ghostfood have released material on Black and Purple, Cloud Valley, Middle James Company, Poor Little Music, Rrrecords, Wintage Records and Tapes, Wolfbeat Records as well as a few no label tapes.

Most new material will be released through Poor Little Music which is Rob Michalchuk's label in Brantford, Ontario.
