Re: Amplifying Motion/Solid Objects

Dynamic microphone elements attached to the blade? This is an interesting one because my own extremely lo-fi potential solution was "hold a microphone plugged into the pedals and amp while also holding the sword" (transforming the sword into, essentially, a prop to guide the microphone-fe...

Amplifying Motion/Solid Objects

So, for a while I've been wanting to do a project involving myself waving around one of those cheap katanas you find at malls (long story) as the primary sound source. I assumed just a base of contact mic on sword + heavy distortion (old reliable Death Metal) would be sufficient to get some texture ...

I seem to recall that they hit Gorenoise the same way and to my knowledge that's never been reinstated.

Re: what noise makes you ask "why"

Basically anything that's centered around extremely piercing frequencies is an immediate no for me. I get the appeal of sounds that physically hurt to listen to in the "metabolic music" tradition, but also why am I not supposed to listen to this audio recording? Even masochists tend to mak...

Re: Noise failure and Lunch

Last I heard it takes 8 months to get a record pressed DIY CDR LUV 💽 💾 💿 The CDR will rise again. Eventually it'll probably be the only physical format that's feasible. Tapes are ahead now, but I suspect they'll start dying out again as reused tapes deteriorate into uselessness and functioning tape...

Re: Noise Lore

What about that sword wielding guy angry at all the noise in Sacramento? I have heard that somebody got some video of the noise ninja but it has never surfaced. Just read this again today and immediately decided I need to do a project called Noise Ninja. Neckbeard getup (duster, fedora, etc.), chea...

Re: Reviews

Although The Caretaker (real name Leyland Kirby) has been active since at least 1999, I can’t help but draw comparisons to any number of artists who heavily utilized tape loops before or since and feel a tinge of vicarious jealousy. With so many others making arguably more captivating music with ta...

Re: PETR VALEK IS A NOISE GOD

Hers a good interview .. he sounds like a hardcore hermit slash artist if that tells you anything about opening a line of communication with him https://reader.exacteditions.com/issues/90264/page/12 Yeah, that definitely bodes poorly. At least they mention people he's worked with, maybe one of them...

Re: MEATHOOK SAINT "Plan Voisin" C40

It's not bad at all, but I feel like the contact mics and more feedback looping approach loses some of the uniqueness from the live feedback tapes. I like layering, but the slow and grainy texture pile-up sound isn't my cup of tea. The mic feedback on the first two releases was really chaotic and st...
