Re: Electric organ repair.
Radical. Thanks for sharing your organ with us BPJ!
The culprit is usually a bit of dirt, oxidization, or failed caps pulling power rails down. Lots of switches and contacts in the works with these. Happy hunting!

Re: Electric organ repair.
Unsure how this one works, but it appears each key is wired, indicating the need of a common reference being fed to the keybed. Make sure that's intact, electrically, and generally poke around some more. The screwdriver assisted trim pot is probably going to dial over all tuning that the top octave ...

Re: Pre-amp for a cassette playback head needed
I have some transistor gain stuff, I'd be happy to throw a PCB into the outgoing box (assumption on my part).
It's based on the budget microphone preamp from a 1972 RCA projects/circuits book, being goosed with a single common emitter transistor gain stage.

Re: Transistor tester
One of those inexpensive 328 based testers fits the bill. They're even cheaper if you're into assembling it yourself, but that involves the ali-express wait: https://www.aliexpress.us/w/wholesale-transistor-tester.html? I see listed prices at around a dollar, I guess TEMU is really shaking up the bo...

Does the Boss OBD not deliver? I think all you need is gain for a tape head.

Re: Enticing and exciting gear photographs
Someone (it was me) had fumbled the output wiring on this to reduce it to 2 channels, which turned out adequate for my needs for a long while. Now that I'm paired up to a four track with a mindful of quad, I saw fit to undo whatever fuckery I had imposed on myself years prior and restore the proper ...

Re: Build Shit - DIY - What's On Your Bench?
Not sure what you mean here about other parts. I've got the complete body (with electronics still mounted) and a neck blank.

Re: Build Shit - DIY - What's On Your Bench?
Oh hey! Looks like a late 1970s Gibson RD standard bass headstock. I look forward to seeing what you build with it. The possibility of the gathering whole bass proper is on my mind. Do you mean recombining the original parts? Not out of the question, I'll have to look back and see what I've got int...
