Transistor conductivity curves.

There is a stair step generator working in lock step with the sweep oscillator. In this picture the steps were of a 0.002 mA size with about 9 volts on the collector. Once the machine is calibrated (I took this picture after working to get any trace at all, followed by a really kinked trace) I'll be able to determine the dynamic operating conditions of a device under test by reading the scale of traces.

Once the machine is dialed in matching transistors will be easy, and someone has provided me with plans to modify and build a breakout box that will allow for curve tracing tubes.
When in doubt, add resistance.

Duane Eddy just used an old corn silo to record in and then when he played live that cool reverb wasn't there and audiences were not pleased... I've read

Wisdom Bravery is an epic brand name for such a thing...

While I realize the following is probably boring to everyone else, I am excited about it.

Arrived yesterday, DOA as described. Complete disassembly followed, and the culprit was bad solder joints at two of the voltage regulators (compounded by questionable PCB layout).

Seems to work a treat, fairly rapid patch change response, with the occasional LP level pop at changes. I have yet to critically listen to some nuanced program material for signs of signal degradation.
When in doubt, add resistance.

The 7.6 is a personal favorite.
Have you ever run them in parallel? And cross fade that shit.

How a bout the Super Prime Times? That and a PCM 41 is still on my bucket list.
