Mmmmmm, synthesis.

Here's a lopsided shot of the AR Vetter open reel recorder speed range. The purpose of this machine was a chart recorder to analog tape, and since DC is troublesome to print everything goes on amplitude modulated. So it amounts to an eight track fixed frequency ring modulated tape machine.

Standard audio recorded tapes play back beautifully at 15/16ths of an inch per second.
