The Mysterious Creep wrote: Mon Feb 17, 2020 7:50 pm I think I've heard someone say that the Amp and Mixer (Amp and Cab sim) outputs are mislabeled on the Digitech version of the DM. Is this true? I have one and I sometimes feel like it's not sounding as brutal as it seems it should.
There is only 1 output on the DOD schematic therefore guessing it is just 2 jacks on same output...
Nope, they added an amp sim, which I believe is the main reason Noise people think the DOD is 'harsher' or whavever... (that and old/cheap caps on the DOD ones; i have had like 4 DOD DMs and each one sounds totally different to the next, let alone to a Digitech!!)

"Out 2: Mixer" is the amp-sim output, "Out 1: Amp" should go to your mixer, we are not playing guitar here.

Swap some components on the same Circuit Board...
Yeah half the range uses the same board with different components. Death Metal and Grunge aren't that similar tho, at least the controls do very different stuff. The noise-legendary, rare and expensive Corrosion uses the same basic board too, and as far as I can figure out is the exact same pedal as the relatively common 'Metal-X' :D which is highly recommended, fairly easy to find cheap

Wrong order in my opinion.
When in doubt, add resistance.

Suggestion: We should start selling DM's back and forth on reverb--at sensible prices--just to try to turn this moronic trend in pricing around.

If anyone's interested in selling an OG DM for $30-$50 USD, feel free to make a listing and let me know before you list it so that I can buy it quickly, before someone else has a chance. Then I can hold it for a few days and sell it back to you, or to another person. Basically, as many people as will agree to this before it eventually gets sold back to the original owner at or below the original sale price. Obviously, this is not something to take part in if you're not willing to throw away a bit of money on postage and diminishing returns.

It could be an idea for a comp, if that incentivizes anyone: One Death Metal to rule them all! Same pedal on all tracks. That, or just having each recipient record the sender's track through the DM pedal, until the same track's been passed through the same DM 2-to-xe2x88x9e times and sounds like absolute dogshit! firedevil

I like both ideas, actually. Two comps for the price of one! nod
