More info to follow when I can really sit down to it; this demo video shows wiring 100% complete but cosmetically incomplete:

Ixe2x80x99m fumbling around a lot in the video because Ixe2x80x99m trying in vain to operate the thing with both hands while filming it.
Basically the mods are:

-switched 1/4xe2x80x9d output jack
-reset button
-boost volume pot
-toggle on/off pitch control
-hi-pass effect (not really a hi-pass circuit, just two points that produce a similar-sounding result)
-toggle on/off four contact points
-xe2x80x9cboopxe2x80x9d feedback-like sound
-xe2x80x9crumblexe2x80x9d a different feedback-like sound
-xe2x80x9csqueakxe2x80x9d toggle on/off/on two different pots that either produce a sensitive to control sputtering sound or a more subtle sputter/volume attenuator, generally modulated with the xe2x80x9cboopxe2x80x9d pot and vice-versa... itxe2x80x99s hard to explain

Truthfully, the last two mods are hardly worth the effort; theyxe2x80x99re neat and all but difficult to predict. Plus one of the pots was a weird value which cost an outrageous amount of money, at least by pot standards.

The enclosure used to be a cd carrying case. Much easier to work with than a metal enclosure. My dad helped me make a hinge for it. Most of the parts used for this build (aside from the wires, knobs and most components) were recycled or bought secondhand.

The LDR is a win.
I'd like to hear this through a system that has a robust low end capability.

10 days of blood sweat and tears... and way more documentation than Ixe2x80x99ve ever done before:

See video description for mods.
I have two more homedics sound spas left but Ixe2x80x99m getting tired of bending white noise machines. Next one will probably be something totally different.

I recently noticed somebody is selling new "Speak & Spells"

I bought one.. haven't opened it yet .. curious as to whether or not the electronics are the same as the original so that the same known bends could be applied. Back in the day there was this yahoo bending group and one user in particular seemed to have a stick up his ass about the prospect of the number of bendable toys going away because people weren't sharing the known bends and potentially frying scarce toys. Anyway.. this would kinda solve that issue.. Did a quick survey of the cost of original ones which varied anyway from $20 to over $100 and these are selling for around $35.
