Purchasing dilemmas

Post by crochambeau »

So, apparently a couple years of amplified isolation has resulted has resulted in my being more awkward than normal.

Apologies to FAP, as their (genuinely useful) reply now makes little sense.

When in doubt, add resistance.

I look forward to receiving the thing, for which I have only just paid for today.

TL;DR indeed: IDK man, go out and play some basketball or something.
Downsize. Purge. Make a few bucks off of all those fancy vintage gadgets the 30-something y.o. synth YouTubers make videos about.

Nothing wrong with collecting stuff. But I'm definitely a hoarder.

I have actually managed to sell some stuff recently (mainly out of necessity) and not buy much at all.

So quite nice to be going one way for a change, but I am sure things will change soon when my GAS gets reignited.

Stay away from marketplaces. They will always have a great deal on something to tempt you with.

Yeah, marketplace can be a GAS igniting slog. To touch back on my deleted tale, I did finally touch base with the seller of the Yamaha TX-416 that had been reduced to $200, but they had at that point given it to a friend of theirs.

Found a great solution to purchasing / money dilemmas.

Met up with a friend over the weekend and he leant me some gear for a long term borrow.

So I've got a Pittsburgh Modular Sv-1 to play with for a while. Initial investigations so that its a very capable beast!
Also got a couple of pedals that I haven't got out of the boxes yet, but theres a filter with a ring mod attached, and an lfo/fuzz thing.

So swap shop / trading is certainly an excellent way to proceed
