Re: how do "you" make dynamic noise
Was chatting on insta the other day with someone, and the conversation revolved around rolling a dice to choose what happens next in your set .. then getting audience members to roll against a lookup chart
Actual roleplaying dungeon synth? Maybe it's been done.
Maybe it's too geeky for noise.

Re: how do "you" make dynamic noise
I'm not into tabletop RPG's at all, but I think that is a really intriguing, cool idea, so long as you keep it grimy and pagan as fuck... That said, it's bound to be full of either crypto-muhbluudnsoil types or reddit-tier pop culture consoomer geeks, if not just a bunch of overly serious uni art gallery eggheads and Spaghettio-shitting hipsters.
The idea is great, it's the people that are the problem!

Re: how do "you" make dynamic noise
Part of my Xdugef sets for a long time now has been to give the audience fake money to throw at me.. you get some audience noise by doing this? Anyway I bought these money guns although they don't work well with fake money.. go figure anyway the audience managed to figure it out and made it rain so to speak

Maybe desgin an app that could interface with your gear\sets of sounds\yourself.Soloman Tump wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 11:59 pm Was chatting on insta the other day with someone, and the conversation revolved around rolling a dice to choose what happens next in your set .. then getting audience members to roll against a lookup chart

The audience could activate preset modules and ques on how to use them.
It could be real time or designed by the audience before hand.
A group chat would work if everybody participating followed the rules and had an 'action map' of commands\choices.
Make some big ass dice.
Maybe something like the old choose your own adventure books but with noise choices. That would also make a neat booklet to go with a release of the results.
This totally would require some visual aids to make it quality.
It is kinda silly but also a really cool idea even for just a one off for video and audio documentation.
I say do it

Re: how do "you" make dynamic noise
The way I do it is a Dementia synth from audible disease feeding a Rupture feedback loop from audible disease. In the loop I am running a convulsion Cn-2 from audible disease, a DOD, FX25 envelope filter and an Ibanez DE7 Delay. If you want more dynamics you can turn off the synth feeding the loop.
It is clearly not a very exotic array of gear. However it can be made to sputter and vomit in interesting ways.
I should be mentioned that anything can be carved up in a DAW into any shape you like.

Not a team player. Doesn't take unsolicited advice. Otherwise charming...
