I figured the choice between a powered up and operational amplifier that is not glamorous or a cool amp that is presently an inoperable project demanded function over form.

I do need to move the Eventide into a more convenient to use place.

Looks a little rich for my blood.

Here's an old single ended 6BQ5 amp that could drive a set of cans, assuming the impedances were low enough.
