False advertising!

There’s a similar surplus mini-chain in the Midwest called American Science and Surplus that I’ve raves about in the past, but I have to admit this Ax Man store has quite the tantalizing selection.

Nothing like this in Ireland?

EDIT: this one also appears to be a mini-chain, and not too far from me, either! This’ll make for a fun day trip one day: thanks!

Last year after dropping my folks off at thr Burbank Airport decided to check out Apex Surplus which is one if my favorite places on Earth.i had heard they were on the brink of closure during the isndrmic but somehow they made it through and had actually organized the place. I bought a bunch of shit.. seems like they have shifted to mostly prop rentals and I had to pry some of the things I bought from them. Anyway .. they have several areas that are wall to wall floor to ceiling rackmount panels etc. It's heaven.

I used to raid the Chicago Science Center back in the day .. then they moved snd their selection was more pedestrian.

Also in Los Angrles is All Electronics.. I picked up a working pedestrian walk don't walk sign last time I was there

We're an island, almost everything here has been imported by someone who wants it, and so there's never any surplus of anything worth having.

We have an abundance of pharmaceuticals and dairy based on our main exports. Otherwise we're importing shit!
