Stutter phone, based on simonthemagpiexe2x80x99s designs. The rotary acts as the stutter (just imagine ten kill switches lined up in series). The phone part itself acts as a microphone which is activated by, what else, the hang-up switch. Oddly enough, only the earpiece works as a mic; the mouthpiece only works with phantom power. When the hang-up switch is pressed down, by phone mic or by finger, it passes the input signal through. Both are connected in series with the rotary stutter, so if I wanted to stutter vocals then stutter input signal, I could.

Nice! You should figure out how to build the phantom power circuit for the mouthpiece mic, thus making it stereo :) I feel like that would probably have more of an authentic 'phone' sound too

The RMA Reach Around is a 9 volt inverting SMPS laid out on a PCB dimensionally similar to a 9 volt cell. Should simplify bipolar power requirements in a pedal atmosphere.

Hear is the first built unit under preliminary test:

The ripple noise, while fairly pronounced (~7 mV) is in the 50 kHz region. I just bashed a little filtering on that, I'm sure it can be massaged even more. This build is tailored for a 10 mA draw, but I'll be plotting out a current chart on it next; and tailoring for different current ranges is as simple as shifting a few values.

When in doubt, add resistance.

Experiment utilizing "super diode/precision rectifier" (opamp compensated diode) in a standard ring modulator configuration. Technically speaking, this is a neat housing of a "failed experiment", as this build does not seem to exhibit the 0 volt forward drop characteristic I expected, but rather has *increased* gating on low amplitude signals.

But since it was doing something I sort of liked I copied that build and packaged it into a stereo enclosure.

Experiments continue on establishing a no forward losses set-up.

Experiment in stereo manipulation. At best this will be a cool little mid-side decoder/encoder with additional output modes, at worst I'm sure I can make it into a nasty distortion box.
