Sources For Hard To Find Parts

Post by Indeterminacy »

I have an acute need for Teisco paddle switches as shown here on this Teisco / Stratocaster mash-up.

Is that something you have your hands on, or are you just needing that form factor?

I'm curious about the other side of the switch. Looks like an organ sort of part.
When in doubt, add resistance.

something like this?

or

They look like organ switches.
They are also on Norma guitars.
What's wrong with yours?
You will most likely have to rebuild them...

On hand.

Although a new suitable sub that maintains the fit, form & function is fine and preferable.

The contacts are very loose.
I have resigned myself to rebuilding and I am not looking forward to it.
Re-tensioning the contact clips means drilling out the pins on the bottom, de-soldering and cutting the pin that the paddles pivot on. I can replace the pins as I have materials that will work.

eBay is obvious, but as stated above "new" that conforms to FF&F is preferred.

These are from an older Teisco I used to have. You can see how the clips are a bit more open than in the image you posted.

All for a Vox Phantom style build with Teisco aesthetics and a modified Strat neck.

Looks like a glorified knife switch, I gather you've tried re-tensioning in place with no success?
When in doubt, add resistance.

maybe try angle tip needle nose squeezing the blade receivers for increasing tension....

Way back when we called them LDRs - Light Dependent Resistors.
Useful, very useful.

A buck a pop for LDR/optos is a good deal, love the goldmine.
When in doubt, add resistance.
