I've tried many types, Pomona beats them all. They are not cheap..
I have, however, purchased cheap stackable banana plugs (from Futurlec) and they were so fucking terrible I refused to use them. That makes them more expensive in my purview.
TL;DR if you do find something cheaper than $5 a cable that is also a joy to use, please post about it because I could do with some of that.

Re: Banana(?) cable inputs
Hmm… might be cheaper at this point to buy stackable banana plugs in bulk & just provide my own cabling.
Dumb question, but do banana cables usually have shielding? I’d imagine not, but then again I don’t want to use cabling that’s too flimsy/easy to break; even if, say, a mesh shield wasn’t used electronically, my brain equates having it there to making a stronger cable.
Only reason I ask is, while I’m basically out of >20awg wire, I have a bunch of salvaged RCA wires.

Re: Banana(?) cable inputs
No shielding on standard banana, it's typically a one conductor wire.
These don't stack (though they do have female connectors so you could build dangling Y cables that allow interconnection): https://www.ebay.com/itm/174735317523?h ... SwfB5gelGT
I found the quality decent for the set I bought many years ago..
