A friend of mine gave me a piano and time elapsed the tear down. I think he was expecting it to take longer than it did, and so selected a faster setting than need be.

This past Sunday I began to liberate the assembly of interest pictured below.
I had 30 minutes to do so and only a 12 oz hamer, slotted screwdriver and 10 inch flat bar to
accomplish my task. No pressure situation of it was free and it had to be dealt with by 9:00am
or it would be dealt with, and I was being told this at 7:45am.
Dumpster was 8 feet away though which made it a win all around.
I left my phone in the jacket pocket of the jacket I left in the car so no in-progress shots.
My mission was complete in 35 minutes after arrival on site.
So here is the plate, frame, soundboard, pinblock , strings & accoutrements from a Geo. P Bent Co. spinet piano.
54" x 36" fits easily in a generic SUV and it can be moved by one person.

Free pianos are the best when things line up just right. The dumpster was profit.
Now how to convince my wife of why my acquiring the damn thing is a good thing.
