Are mycelium networks connected under the sea? Are there ancient superhighways of world wood web buried deep beneath the water that are tracking humanities global demise?
Also presumably some mushroom spores can carry across oceans (on birds or breeze) so even if there are no underwater connections it remains a worldwide web because of this.
