Todesking - Post-Mortem Pleasures (2015)

My attempt at some minimalist death industrial; atrax morgue worship. Only gear used was two tape recorders, a mic, an amp, and digital delay. Made one copy of it, hid it in a bookstore, and walked away. Came out rather bleak and amateurish: I suppose mission accomplished but ehh... idk about this one.

This is a pretty calming release. The textures are pretty nice. Closed Casket makes me think of a giant, rabid fly. Lurking the Morgue reminded me of
the start of Merzbow's track Looping Jane

So there are no synths anywhere on this? I'd love know how this was recorded, because your description makes it sound like it's all feedback but it certainly doesn't sound like all feedback.

All sounds were generated by moaning into or tapping on the mic. The mic went into a digital delay with a very short delay time, then out to an amp which was recorded by a tape recorder. These recordings became the xe2x80x9cdemoxe2x80x9d tracks, and all other tracks are merely some variation on them with some distortion (I think I achieved this by running the demo tracks through another tape recorder but I canxe2x80x99t say for sure). Tracks 1 & 4 are just the demo tracks played in either fast-forward or reverse, while track 3 is the same as demo track 6, only played at a much slower speed. Ixe2x80x99m almost certain no computer editing was used until I ripped the tracks for this digital version.

Typical me, not thinking of using mics as mics. Sounds fascinatingly crusty. Not necessarily what I associate with Death Industrial, but then my vision for that genre has always been heavily shaped by Hole in the Heart and Necrose Evangelicum (both hard on the drone side of the equation). Pretty cool stuff!
