FAPography

Post by FAP »

Some of you have expressed interest in a box set of my work.

First, thank you very much for the genuine interest. That said, I have no plans to release such a box set at this time.

Secondly, I infer some of you are unfamiliar with my prior activities and may be wondering where one project begins and another one ends.

In this thread, I'll be providing a [mostly] chronological list of my various aliases, their years of activity, and a select discography for each.

Note that this is by no means a complete list: I've intentionally omitted several releases and projects I've taken part in over the years, generally due to them being exceptionally insincere, objectionable and/or embarrassing.

All entires in each discography were self-released unless otherwise noted.

Shitty McShitFuck (2006-2008):

-Old Ass Shit From The Motherfuckin' Graveyard of Stinky Piss (tape, compilation; 2009)

Shitty McShitfuck documents nearly all of my recorded sound experiments prior to starting My Lovely Figment, creating a clear division between pre-MLF material and everything that followed.
There's a mish-mash of different sounds to be heard, though cumulatively and stylistically I'd call it "shit noise."

My Lovely Figment (2009-2011, 2014):

-Insomniacs Anonymous (digital, full-length; Smell The Stenc ... 447, 2009)
-Why Do I Even Bother? (tape, demo; 2010)
-Soft Rock (tape, full-length; 2010)
-This Room (digital, full-length; Mulehorse - MH032, 2014)

-split
w/ Cementimental (tape; XV Parxc3xb3wek - xvp74, 2010)

-split w/ The Shock Technician (tape; 2011)
-Seclusion Rooms [split w/ Zenith] (digital; 2013)

-FUCK 2009 (digital, compilation; 2010)
-2009 miscellaneous (digital, compilation; 2013)
-2010 miscellaneous (part 1) (digital, compilation; 2013)
-2010 miscellaneous (part 2) (digital, compilation; 2013)

-That Tired Feeling (MLF Remix)
&
Instability (MLF remix)
:
from No End In Sight Remixes Volume I (digital; Argali Records - ARGREC05, 2009)
-Field recording 10/6/09:
from Power/field 2 (2xCD-r; Anarchymoon Recordings - anok30, 2010)
-A Hackjob Introduction to The Intangible Something, or, How I realized that I failed at Power Electronics:
from Music To Fuck To (3xCD-r; Pig Durt Productions - PDPC-001, 2010)
-Shit hits the fan... and all in all its not too bad once you get out the club soda:
from Cementimental presents 1 second chipnoise comp which took way too long (digital; Cementimental self-release, 2011)

-Undulating (never officially released)
-Pizza Man (unfinished Old Skull cover)

MLF was my main project and probably my most prolific one to date. It started off as purely ambient with Insomniacs Anonymous, but
quickly came to encompass many different experimental styles and techniques, including harsh noise, noisecore, power electronics, tape
collage, glitch, lo-fi, spoken word, found sound, field recordings, and even some "actual" songs.

Miss Ogyny* (2009):
*as part of this group.

-Free Jazz for Dead People: The Complete Sessions (digital, compilation; 2015)

A short-lived "band" I had with a friend. The goal of the project was to achieve truly genre-less music: the result was highly improvisational freeform sound.

Zenith (2010-2011):

-All
That Remains: The Surviving Records Of "VCR Static Death"
(3xtape, box set; Pig Durt Productions - PDP001, 2010)
-Chain (CD-r, full-length; Slow Death Records 2011)
-Ragnarxc3xb6k (microcassette, EP; Dictafawn - DFN008, 2011)

-split w/ Junkie Scum [re-canonized as Dictafawn - DFN000] (microcassette; 2011)
-Seclusion Rooms [split w/ My Lovely Figment] (digital; 2013)

Zenith was my first and thus far most "known" HNW project. The initial style was strictly dedicated to static noise walls generated from the
output of a VCR I had at the time, however it briefly branched out into keyboard-generated walls with Ragnarxc3xb6k [and retroactively
with Seclusion Rooms].

rich noise errs (2011-2012):

-STEAKTANiK LOGiC (CD-r, full-length; 2011)
-you fool (CD-r, full-length; 2012)
-The Kingdom of Blood (digital, compilation; 2014)*
*compiles STEAKTANiK LOGiC and you fool plus some bonus tracks

This was an oddball project in-between MLF and FAP, essentially meant as an outlet to release things semi-anonymously and with markedly
different approaches to composition. Styles varied from album to album, or even track to track, such as with the melodic noise and
blackened power electronics of STEAKTANiK LOGiC, or the ludicrous turntable experiments and scrap abuse of you fool.

Prepubescent Warfare (2011):

-Discovery of Porn (Demo 2011) (floppy disc, demo; 2016)

The precursor to what would become xdirtyxbikerxfartxstainx.xcomx, this was an immature, low-tech noisecore project. Floated around the net in some form or another until eventually being reissued [twice] on limited edition floppy discs.

FAP (2012-2013, 2015-2016):

-nocturne (digital, single; 2012)
-My head lowered as its was reared (digital, EP; 2013)
-Amy is dead. (digital, EP; 2013)
-Ego Terrorism (digital, EP; 2013)
-Cleanup (digital, single; 2020)

-split w/ Meat Glue (digital; Galatic Intolerance Records - GIR035, 2012)
-Live [in collaboration w/ 10564] (tape; Gra ... rds, 2016)

-Bob is Walking (Joe Bag cover):
from Oral Disease: Noise Artists Talk About Noise (digital; Anon Pop
self-release, 2013)

Probably my second most prolific project, FAP was, for the most part, dedicated to harsh noise with an emphasis on scrap abuse. The name is
an abbreviation of an old username: FireAlarmPoet. Of course, the shortened version of FAP was much more fitting for this project. Briefly revived for a few live shows in 2015 & 2016.

xdirtyxbikerxfartxstainx.xcomx (2012-2013):

-The sweet scent of crotch itch:
from NGNY - The Yellow Album (digital; Musica Estranha, 2013)

-Leather Seat Reverence (Rehearsal Oct. 2013) (digital, rehearsal; 2013)
-Blackened Bike Farts for Satan! (digital, full-length; 2013)

A joke noisecore project, until Blackened Bike Farts for Satan! where the style shifted to black metal parody... all the while still adhering to the bizarre caveman-bicycle-flatulence fetish premise I came up with. Why? Even I don't know.

simple (2012):

-Atka-Imog (digital, full-length; 2012)

One-off project inspired by the Japanese Gomi-Akta noise compilation (Coquette, 1993). The name came from another old username: simple. Very low-fidelity turntable hum with scraping metal noises, recorded direct to tape that was later crinkled by hand.

Tallow Glee (2012):

-Campfire Thrillers (tape, full-length; Crystal Lake Tapes, 2013)

One-off project based on the children's video of the same name. Digitally-generated HNWs with occasional samples from said video.

DiRT (2013):

-DiRT (tape, full-length; 2013)

One-off project created with the aim of producing the most "raw, dusty, cheap and primitive" noise possible.

Todesking (2015):

-Post-Mortem Pleasures (digital/tape, full-length; 2015)

One-off project attempting to emulate oldschool death industrial like Atrax Morgue. Performed using a minimal setup consisting of a tape recorder, mic, amp, delay, and various editing tricks.

Chris Reierson (2017-):

-Sensitive to Textures (digital/CD-r/tape, full-length; 2017)
-Flowering Displeasure (bizCD-r, single; Low Life High Volume ... -09, 2018)

-split w/ Juice Machine (tape; 2019)
-Retreats [split w/ Tyrannic Horizon] (2xtape; 2019)
-Airtractor [in collaboration w/ Mansfield Deathtrap Re-Recordings] (tape; Gracious Host - Ghost 4, 2020)

-Dictafraud! [Microcassette Day 2019 exclusive] (microcassette & CD-r, compilation; 2019)
-Ha Det (digital, compilation; 2019)
-Mouthful of Grapes (CD-r, compilation; 2020)

-Toumaxc3xaf:
from Notes From Chaos: The 2 Year Anniversary Show (digital; Notes From Chaos self-release, 2017)
-Vexations:
from Humanity Bidet (3" CD-r; Low Life High Volume - LLHV-04, 2018)
-My Corona:
from Covid-19
Compilation: Recorded Under Quarantine
(2xCD-r; Forever Escaping Boredom - FEB-111, 2020)[/u]

-various contributions to the Magnetic Coroner project, including: MC-05 (2017); MC-06, MC-09, MC-10, MC-11, MC-12, MC-13 (2018); MC-14,
Time Maligned, MC-15, MC-16, MC-17, Black Hole (2019).

After going through so many aliases over the years, I finally decided to simply use my real name. Similar to MLF, my debut album, Sensitive to Textures, was a mostly ambient affair, but I'd eventually branch out into different styles.

For more ambient and field recording works, listen to Ha Det and the first half of Mouthful of Grapes.
For harsh noise, check out the last two tracks on Mouthful of Grapes, Flowering Displeasure, the splits w/ Juice Machine
& Tyrannic Horizon, or the appearances I made on the Notes From Chaos anniversary show and the Humanity Bidet compilation.
For tape loop-based compositions, check out Airtractor.
And for something totally different i.e. plunderphonics, check out my submission to the Covid-19 Compilation.

Bipolar Batman (2020-):

-Bipolar Batman (tape, full-length; 2020)

A fairly new [as of writing] project birthed from the chance repurposing of two old archival tape recordings. Silly name, silly logo, serious HNW.

Diode Snorter (2020-):

-Noise Goon (tape, full-length; Daint Recordings #16, 2020)

A very recent project dedicated to harsh noise with an emphasis on circuit bent gear.

future projects TBA

This is good stuff.
Combo Lathe cut and Microcassette release please.

I'm going to play it through some form of instrument amplifier, for the finest listening experience.

And ditto Rubbish.
Keep pushing the boundaries.

Stop bein' a bitch (I am just projecting in a disgusting and manipulative way).

Seriously though: What is really objectionable? Now, then, whenever, wherever, whatever

...?

Full dicks-closure: I am extremely drunk and emotionally muted/insensitive.

Yeah.
It's ok if you did a limp bizkit noise cover project.

Totally forgot about this, but I was interviewed by the Reveal fanzine recently and physical copies are now available:

https://m.facebook.com/atandistorted

The zine appears to cover mostly international death/grind-type bands but therexe2x80x99s plenty of other stuff in there too.

Ixe2x80x99d encourage those interested to buy a copy, though if you just want my two cents here it is:
