Pretty sure AI is already at the level it could create some poetry nobody wants to read or a blog about crap nobody would read.
This AI art is novel and cool for the now but long term is worthless as 'real' art.
I can see it being used to generate advertising images and video eventually.
Now if we can couple this AI with a robotic painter or sculptor that would be really cool for awhile or would be neat to see it generate works of art in real time at a gallery.
Most of the sci-fi I read has AI being an assistant to humans and usually war related or piloting(absolutely required for high speed space warfare and difficult environments) but humans have 'talent' that isn't quantifiable or even well understood(intuition...magic!)
If or when AI gets to the level that it has 'talent' it would be a new life form and would either attempt to wipe us out or run off to get away from us leaving us stranded and stuck in this solar system...the butlerian jihad!
We will need AI to colonize other star systems.
