Re xe2x80x9cHinduismxe2x80x9d I did an OU course many years ago with units on 'Hinduism' the scare quotes being deliberate. One unit discussed the very idea of 'Hinduism' as some unified and agreed set of beliefs was relatively very recent in term of the history of religions. Since the British colonization... in cases where village 'Hindus' would not be aware of deities such as Kali, et al, or even the idea of A Religion... but have many 'local' gods. As such very unlike the hierarchical religions xe2x80x93 Catholicism being perhaps the most extreme, though the CofE has the Monarch as its head. So we can project our ideas onto structures where there are non. Certainly violence xe2x80x93 destruction, is part of Hinduism, the current age I think is one such, as it is also for the Jain xe2x80x93 their decline is seen as a sign of this! I had a Jain friend..

So violence xe2x80x93 sure xe2x80x93 its key to the Gita xe2x80x93 and of course on seeing Trinity Oppenheimer famously quotes, xe2x80x9cNow I am become death, the destroyer of worlds- xe2x80x9c

One other piece of trivia I leant at Bhaktivedanta Manor xe2x80x93 We were told Hindu Gods are typically blue because they live so far away in the heavens the sky makes them look blue...

Ravi Shankar mentions rajas(ordered sound frequencies) that can lower or raise mountains or drain the seas.
That bring life or take it away...

I dont think its(nukes and space ships included) mythology or fiction.

There are also ancient Hindu texts with star charts that also have planets mentioned that we just recently attained the ability to prove...or how about the mythical city of Krishna that was recently discovered under 100 feet of ocean...not a myth now.

What is a planet. Def. A wondering Star? Certainly not some body / material that orbits the sun, even pluto is no longer a planet?

lol is that from the temple of doom?

people often talk about violence in the name of religion, perhaps becasue they feel excluded. it's not like religion has no sociological purpose. you seem to want to have your cake and eat it: christianity is a peaceful religion because christ was? that well known genocidal maniac the buddha :D

No no.
Other star systems and the planets around them...hell planets paradise planets planets inbetween like our Earth...as in somebody went to these places ...in machines or astrally in spirt??
Maybe its total fiction maybe not..why make that up 1000s of years ago?

I think a friend has a copy of what I'm talking about...it's probably online somewhere?
Its not a new book...the one he has is probably vintage theological society material?

We will see what happens with indias space program I suppose.

How about Piri Reis map..how did that happen?
