not enough noise in the noise forum!

look, i was just saying -- facetiously (fwiw) -- that the goal of hinduism is peace, in the same way that the goal of christianity is getting into heaven and hanging out with your crucified God.

there's this new thing, the internet: people correct you without contradicting you

people often talk about violence in the name of religion, perhaps becasue they feel excluded. it's not like religion has no sociological purpose. you seem to want to have your cake and eat it: christianity is a peaceful religion because christ was? that well known genocidal maniac the buddha :D
In the main Christianity is a religion of salvation, and also eternal punishment for others, with the exception maybe of ideas such as Origen xe2x80x93 Jesus himself didn't take lightly to some... xe2x80x9cBut if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be thrown into the sea.xe2x80x9d

As for Buddhism for some its not regarded as a religion.... it lacks interest in transcendentalism, and even self salvation. i.e. it seeks to get off the bus, not discover anything about it or where it might be going.

What is a planet. Def. A wondering Star? Certainly not some body / material that orbits the sun, even pluto is no longer a planet?

No no.
Other star systems and the planets around them...hell planets paradise planets planets inbetween like our Earth...as in somebody went to these places ...in machines or astrally in spirt??
Maybe its total fiction maybe not..why make that up 1000s of years ago?

I think a friend has a copy of what I'm talking about...it's probably online somewhere?
Its not a new book...the one he has is probably vintage theological society material?

We will see what happens with indias space program I suppose.

How about Piri Reis map..how did that happen?
I remember a book ages ago - chariots of the gods.. maybe just modern projection of ideas on the past..?

"The Piri Reis map is a world map compiled in 1513 by the Ottoman admiral and cartographer Piri Reis (pronounced [pixcbx90xcbx88xc9xbeixcbx90 xc9xbeeis]). Approximately one third of the map survives; it shows the western coasts of Europe and North Africa and the coast of Brazil with reasonable accuracy. Various Atlantic islands, including the Azores and Canary Islands, are depicted, as is the mythical island of Antillia and possibly Japan. "

??

I mean the Pope et al really rates the Big Bang Theory, over a steady state... only because it suits. Like the Egyptians built space ships, but thought the brain pointless...

Oh sorry, it was a metaphorxe2x80xa6 "a thing regarded as representative or symbolic of something else."

Literally: Buddhism doesn't concern itself regarding the details of reality rather seeks escape from it, good or bad.
