Yeah that's kinda what I do. I have a vague idea, I start with a loop or a sample, I let things go with feedback or weird clocks and see what happens but I don't mind if it sounds like I'm obviously trying to control things.

I patched a benjolin to sound a bit like your setup, this evening. jammed for a while, thought it was too much fun to leave, so went to record it... four seconds of fiddling nd farting noises later, I gave up
