Whatever happened to...

This type of music tends to challenge the distinction that is made in conventional musical practices between musical and non-musical sound.

Well a few years ago he sent me a message saying that someone on my friends list was releasing nutsy material and if I didnt unfriend them he would block me.

He blocked me.

The person releasing things does release some fringe political materials but has not once threatened me with anything if I didnt do something or think the way they want.

METEK is a left wing fascist authoritarian wannabe bully and I don't know were he is.
By his talk he may have converted to Islam?
remember about ten years ago i started a project based on shared noises, you sent me a bunch of noisy stuff and some violins? well some others did too, chris(i died) sent a heavily distoted digeridoo track on cassette through the mail, whoever the jackass german noiseguide poster M-P was sent a track of him wanking, gordon(r.i.p.) sent a track, and of course i did my part, but the one track that really killed it was sent by METEK

the end product of the ten years mixing and fuddling is 80 minutes of noise wandering, everything from ambient to harsh to wall, its pretty hard to listen to, i call it "meditation distraction"

anyway, its funny that METEK is on there with all us nazis

A liberal left authoritarian is a more accurate description.

scratch a liberal... most liberal / upper class "identity politics" is just about maintaining ones own privileged status while propagating myths about the less successful and disadvantaged.

the liberal authoritarian doesn't actually believe people from their own background experience anything any different to anyone else.

hyporcites. i say this from experience.

Whatever happened to...

Post by BPJ »

I was up at my Dad's place the last few days and reminiscing, I talked about Gordon, Bad Command or File Name, who was my first big Internet buddy, and despite never meeting in real life, I miss a lot still. I don't think there's a been another person more influential to me personally on how I think about music, I often listen to his stuff even now nearly a decade later. Then I started wondering, whatever happened to Davey from the grindcore band Bleeding Out The Demons? He was a cool guy, and I got to interview himself and possibly the vocalist, I can't recall. I have a copy of possibly the only physical release they ever did, one of six. Who else is there that just kind of disappeared one day?

Man, talk about synchronicity... I was just thinking of Gordon yesterday: I hadn't thought about him in years before then.

It's a little morbid, but I think enough time has passed to finally spill the beans: the last thing Gordon ever said (typed) to me was something along the lines of "you are a fucking asshole."

And I was.

Now I'm not going to pretend like this was some critical, life-defining moment for me (I barely knew the guy & vice-versa), but it was one of several moments throughout my late teens/early 20's that contributed to the eventual realization that I was being a petulant child.

I've grown a lot since then. I'm certainly still struggling in some areas, but I'd like to think I'm in an overall better place now, due in part to corrections I've made to my behavior because of people who helped to broaden my perspective. People like Gordon, who so bluntly and unambiguously pointed out how much of a dickhead I was being, fostered my maturity: I think it's prudent for me, then, to thank him for that.

R.I.P.
