How did you end up making/listening to noise?

This type of music tends to challenge the distinction that is made in conventional musical practices between musical and non-musical sound.

I still stand by my advice, buy some lederhosen and a one way ticket to Miami Beach

All for leather pants but Miami is too damn hot and theres no real seasonal change.
Really its the humidity I don't care for and if I had to live in florida id want to live in the swamp in one of those creepy floating swampbilly houses..I do like the swamp even with the humidity.

I do have a large collection of tropical Hawaiian shirts so maybe some day....

It's nice not to have to worry about your pipes freezing, slipping on ice.
It gets India hot, the rainy season (mushrooms) makes the summers very weird

i had the same feeling when i was your age :)
Haha, well. That is reassuring. I mean, I guess it is reassuring to be reminded that this isn't a unique dilemma for 30-somethings.

You may be right. I feel like I'm spinning my wheels here, and I'm starting to think it's not entirely down to me, considering how easily I've managed to make friends in other cities. The humidity certainly can't be much worse in Miami than it is here.

Ahead of that, I'd like to start noise busking like I used to do occasionally. Whenever all this social distancing shit is done with, and I can get more than a day off of work in between shifts, I want to do some guerilla shows. Make flyers. Seems like the only way to potentially draw out other like-minded people around here.

I'm 28. I feel older, certainly, and the dead fish complexion and congenital violet circles under my eyes likely make me *look* older... but more seriously, while I can socialise in most environments to some extent, I'm a lot more comfortable in environments where most of the people around me are a fair bit older than I am than it seems most people my age or younger are. I think a lot of people are weirdly afraid of socialising with people who remind them of their parents or of childhood authority figures, particularly because they have this fear of not being taken seriously, but even when I was very young I always saw it as a learning opportunity and a chance to foster mutual respect rather than some weird frightened pissing contest.

Underpants equals underwear.

When I first got into noise I remember hearing about a caroliner rainbow l.p. packed in a pair of white mens underwear or Y fronts in the UK....maybe they were painted underpants...its on discogs.

If I were someone that lived in the UK I'd have a noise band called the
Y FRONT YOBOS

Y-fronts
men's briefs with an inverted-Y-shaped frontal flap; originally a trademark (US: briefs or jockey shorts / jockeys; US slang: tighty-whiteys)
yob, yobbo
lout, young troublemaker (origin: boy spelt backwards)[56]
