I've wondered about when it would happen for several years now (what with developing diabetes, just generally getting older, etc.), but seeing it posted just now was still a shock. Regardless of whatever "drama" there has been, or certain criticisms lobbied against GPO over the years, this is very sad to hear.

End of an age.

Wow. Honestly didn't see this coming: they just seemed like one of those people that would live forever, you know? As if life had thrown so much shit their way and they were still standing by the end of it that it seemed like nothing could kill them. But alas, se la vie. RIP, you legend.

Only two Beatles left... Cruel times we live in. I loved you, Gen, despite your sick and stupid, lonely, narcissistic grandma ways.
(ignore the corny video. Audio's what matters in this instance)

nice, I've never seen or heard that one. So much TG output that I've missed on (so far).

Gen themself would readily admit that they were a deeply flawed and at times destructive human being, but that does not change the fact that they did a lot of good in this world and changed so many lives for the better, mine included. I still haven't fully processed their passing yet. I'm not good with death.

Requiescat in pace, you wild and spectacular creature.

I am thankful I was able to see TG with the original lineup play at least once.

Death of a true innovator, and radical & original free thinker.

The odd part of this is that the Gristleizer....a piece of gear I stalked for years in pedal form, commissioned lackluster diy versions of etc...had eventually narrowed my hunt to a specific version made by EAR in modular format (5 CV ins and 3 CV outs)...

Genesis passed just as the holy grail model went up on ebay. Figured price would be driven through the roof...and bid anyway. Won it for $140. TG was my intro to noise in the late 90s. Was one of the few "full circle" moments I've had in life. I'm not worthy but am at least conscious of the fact. Have had phenomenal sessions pretty much every time I've sat down with it, I try to let it dictate to me what it wants to do.
