Noise failure and Lunch

This type of music tends to challenge the distinction that is made in conventional musical practices between musical and non-musical sound.

Social_Drift wrote: Fri Dec 24, 2021 2:16 am the obvious thing about tapes vs Cdr's for me is that Cdr labels suck.
So do cassette labels.. first tapes I made the labels were too thick and several got stuck in car tape decks
presumably that was the glue man
Not exactly.. the labels were too thick and car stereo decks are too finicky

But back when I still made cdrs with labels the trick I kearney to making sure they don't bubble or peel off was to use cdrs that were printable and then instead of printing directly to them applying the label to them. The texture on the printable surface made for better adhesion.

Why not print directly to them? Well the inkjet direct to disc prints are a matte finish and I never thought they looked good

But the other problem with paper labels us that most likely they're printed with ink jet inks which tend to fade unless it's special ink jet ink with uv protection

Had an Xmas lunch today.. roast beef and turkey etc

Insomnia has hit, I've been up for hours listening to cricket commentary and eating turkey stuffing sandwiches.

Went to the zoo yesterday. The elderly meerkat was missing and presumed deceased. Oddest thing we saw was this area that has been closed for the past two years. This area is supposed to be cave like. There was only one animal exhibit in it for the Axolotl. Then there was a display with some beat up mannequins in caving gear and a Bernie sanders on the moon poster in the background.

Before we left the zoo we had lunch at the zoo.
