Noise needs more squidosaurs and fat guys in chicken costumes!
He posts the odd bits and bobs on his instagram account.

Ah. I don't use it, but maybe I'll look into him on there. I'd forgotten about the Perfect Circuit demo video he did until I started looking for that toilet video. I remember at the time thinking that was going to be the start of some 90's-00's weirdo noise renaissance that never came.

I just saw there's a live video from this year too... :)
Happy to see that.

He was nicely active in streaming over the past couple of years too.

In fact, his YouTube is well populated with recent videos

I met him several years ago and completely embarrassed myself. I've been a fan for a long time, and wanted to get a tape signed. I nearly fell on the floor talking to him, I was genuinely star-struck and I think he was confused by it.

I get that, though I wouldn't be "star struck" by non-famous noise musicians, he is a good example of an important non-famous noise musician. I tend to feel uncomfortable talking with performers / artists in general. like, mildly impressed and want to chat about it, but aware I don't know them so that it may come off as a fame / poser thing.

there's always people to talk to, and expecting someone to be cool cos you like their music seems foolish.

I met the main guy behind blink 182 once.. I had no idea who he was at the time and still don't care but he seemed normal enough

Edit.. I wanted to lookup who it was but it wasn't blink 182 .. oh well ..

Professionally I've been in the room with so many celebrities and you have to refrain from being a fan so when I run into such people I tend to not react at all now

The last time I saw Crank was at the Norcal Noisefest.. during my set I had a few minor tech issues and he made a comment about how well I handled them .. which I do take as high praise but also .. Bruh I've got decades of live performance experience .. the show must go on!
