Its not like the admin was taking care of it. Registrations had been closed for a long time and hardly anybody had been posting there.
Or it could be that it's just down because Nathan needs to upgrade the forum software. Many hosts have been eliminating old versions of php for security reasons and newer versions break older versions of phpbb

Dang, it seems like all the Noise Forums are dying. What a bummer.
Even if you took a few years and learned all the chords you'd still have a limited number of options. If you ignore the chords your options are infinite and you can master guitar playing in one day. - David Fair

Re: Et tu, Maniacs Only?
Yeah, because they were all really buzzing with activity in the years preceding.
I think everyone's on Facebook groups now. Only problem is, FB closed my account for completely unknown reasons. How am I gonna stalk co-workers now? LinkedIn?!
Honestly, we should all start using LinkedIn. I've been thinking of ways to turn "royalty free harsh noise" a legitimate resource without relying on bandcamp or audiojungle for hosting and/or licensing.

Re: Et tu, Maniacs Only?
Apparently maniacs was as I thought taken out by a forced update to a newer version of php. I fixed another forum that had the same thing happen to it and it was a total pain. Considering how little traffic it was getting I kinda doubt Nathan will fix it but we'll see I guess

Re: Et tu, Maniacs Only?
The closest thing I've seen to a noise board on LinkedIn is a goth group that I joined that has maybe three topics total. Though it would definitely change things up. All that's ever posted there are fake self-congratulatory stories and corporate masturbators talking about how any trivial thing is hugely important and actually revolutionary. Meanwhile, attention-starved drones respond with echoes, dripping with blatant insincerity, hoping to get any sort of acknowledgment. People are so far up their own asses on LinkedIn, imagining that they're like Bill Gates just because they have a job.xc2xbe dead wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 12:02 pm Honestly, we should all start using LinkedIn. Actually, LinkedIn would be a great place for noise.
