Videogames

Post by NoiseWiki »

I just started playing Cyberpunk 2077. It looks pretty cool but as I had read kinda glitchy which kinda works with the aesthetic. The point and shoot aspect of it is kinda weird.. I'm not that great at point and shoot games but aiming the gun is fucking hard and laggy. There are a few annoyances like they have a camera mapped to one of the sticks that gets activated when you press it which is easy to do accidentally. I guess it's cool that while in the middle of any scene you can fly around the environment and see your character but its really annoying when you go into the mode by accident while in the middle of a fight. At least you can turn this mode off completely or change the default controls for it. The story is pretty interesting .. sorta like bladerunner gone completely amuck.

Okay now that I have gotten over the learning curve I'm enjoying this game. To get well stocked you need a spend a certain amount of time buying soda from vending machines and then converting them to materials that can be sold for more than you paid for the soda. Once you have gotten some decent weapons and armor you can then go around beating up the criminal elements for more money and perks. The key here seems to be to avoid the game pushing you towards the main narrative. Although I suppose you can do these things at any point but it seems worth the investment to scour the environment for goods first. At some point I found it hilarious that I was being chased by some bad guys I had just attacked and then was out numbered by and as I ran down a street with my katana in hand I spotted a vending machine and stopped running away and immediately stopped to buy all the soda in the machine.

Best upgrade so far has been double jump legs. Also my katana is a slice and dicer and doesn't need ammo which can be another huge expense since many of the baddies are bullet sponges.
