Yeah the whole noise is serious business seems to be especially strong among the pe crowd. They are also possibly the on's who mainly have issues with "costume noise"

Re: Power Electronics Tips xe2x86xa9
i go both ways on this. treat it with too much frivolity and one potential impression is that the treater in question regards themselves as somehow above it all. that grates. on the other hand, i feel that japanese noise is partially founded on the perception that euro pe-ers were taking themselvest too seriously. which to me is ironic because i feel the jp noise contingent helped restore the popularity of euro pe (especially and including whitehouse).NoiseWiki wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2020 11:01 amYeah the whole noise is serious business seems to be especially strong among the pe crowd.
what am i saying? how should i know? probably something like- nothing exists in a vacuum.

Re: Power Electronics Tips xe2x86xa9
??? But those aren't examples of "people are more shocked by extreme content in art and music", they are examples of "moronic racist scum are emboldened to paste up racist garbage"It is more shocking than ever.
It's completely normal for mainstream television entertainment to feature levels of sex and violence which would have definitwly got a film banned in the 70s/80s

Case in point.
1970s:

- hip popular artists.
2020s:

- MORONIC! RACISS!! SCUM!!! RAYCISSS!!!! GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111 hissyfit
Just like I said, more schocking than ever.
My comment was made in response to James who was talking about "the general right wing drive" of Power Electronics. He said:
(emphasis mine)
What does this have to do with levels of sex and violence on mainstream television? Absolutely nothing.
Let's make a bet.
Dress up as Sid & Siouxie for the next gig and call the performance "Leibstandarte SS Isnxe2x80x99tses: Live at Der Fxc3xbchrerbunker".
If you win, I will never use fascist imagery for provocation.
If I win, you will spend the rest of your carreer sharing the stage with Zyklon SS, because no one else will agree to.

Re: Power Electronics Tips xe2x86xa9
So Leibstandarte SS Isnxe2x80x99tses: Live at Der Fxc3xbchrerbunker is not happening? That's a bummer.
You guys already look a bit like younger, goofier versions of Patrick Leagas and Freya Aswynn, so you'd probably be able to pull this off magnificently. Just add some runes, and crooked crosses, and Roman salutes, the usual deal...

I think you miss my point, back in the 80s it seems TG and Whitehouse , the name is a clue, et al. set out to shock. Whitehouse went further, with Peter Sotos, not sure if they actually promote the stuff of Nazism, child rap-e and murder or still use these to shock. Do you know? As performers maybe not, but I'm not familiar whether they actually put their money (whatever) where their mouth was. Maybe you can enlighten me, but guess not, otherwise they would be in prison or exposed in the media. That this went on Saville, Glitter et al, whilst they portrayed a conventional and charitable fun personae is interesting, and they didn't all get away with it. Unlike many others in the establishment indulging in this actual activity rather than promoting it for publicity
So as to your challenge, and look at the photos, how quaint and charming they seem now, if Tim did dress so, there would be I think two possible outcomes. The audience would see the pastiche of the 80s and laugh, not being provoked at al all. Or take it seriously as not provocation but actuality. The latter to which they would respond proportionately.
xe2x80x9cDress up as Sid & Siouxie for the next gig and call the performancexe2x80x9d Eye make-up, chains and padlocks... not serious xe2x80x93 just kids messing about...

and to do it now, naxc3xafve, or silly or ironic. For example check out what the Chapmans get away with, its OK as its IRONIC, funny, no big fuss.
Back in 77 never mind the bollocks was naughty.... now neo-liberals have it on their tee shirts and car stickers... wear it in the EU parliament.
The reaction these days to such performance would depend on whether it was considered genuine or merely an act. The latter would be ignored as passxc3xa9e, the former taken seriously. You would not get arrested these days for simulated rap-e on stage, whereas you once could, but would be arrested for a genuine rap-e, then and now.

xe2x80x9cThis prosecution was defeated when Whitehouse's solicitor, Graham Ross-Cornes, the chief witness against Bogdanov, revealed under cross-examination that he had been sitting at the very back of the theatre when he saw what was claimed to be a penis. The prosecution withdrew after lead defence counsel Jeremy Hutchinson QC demonstrated that Ross-Cornes could have witnessed the actor's thumb protruding from his fist.xe2x80x9d
