Sir Edgar Carpenter is a noise/experimental musician from Mexico City, born in 1994 and working since 2008.

Initially influenced by The Beatles's "Revolution 9", he is relatively known in the internet for his continuous noise and experimental releases. His most known works are a series of albums dedicated to animated TV shows (denominated Killing Cartoon Society's Saga) that were released between 2010 and 2018. He's owner of a net-label called Scriptsound Recordings since 2010, and has organized compilation albums with many artists and musicians around the globe. Edgar says he picked up his moniker due to his love to British musical culture, while he took the surname Carpenter as a mock to the British band, The Carpenters, and because he "just liked how it sounded".

His music style has changed over the course of the years, but it's mostly based on transformation of sounds and creating bizarre sound-collages with a "noisy appeal". He puts special emphasis on reverberated sound and a "symphonic-wannabe" structure, frequently trying to avoid monotonous or static noises. Although his primary source of editing and producing music is via laptop (using audio unit effects, samplers, tone generators, granular synthesis, turntable softwares, MIDI sequencers and synthesizers), he has used analogue sounds as basic source material for his noise, such as field-recordings, found objects, handmade instruments, and more prominently, his own voice through multiple effects (a technique he likes to call "Vocal Synthesizers"), as well as real drums and other instruments. He has cited Merzbow, Masonna, Achim Wollscheid, Rudolf Eb.er, Michael Cretu, Vangelis, Frank Zappa, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Yoko Ono and George Harrison's "Electronic Sound" as his strongest influences. He rarely performs live, preferring studio work and collaborative sessions, although in 2011, he performed for an almost-private minitour as a trio consisting on fellow collaborators Sidd Anders and Adolph DicksAppointed (R.I.P.).

Edgar also has a non-noise/experimental side project called My Wrong Note, dedicated to more conventional and commercial "instrumental art-pop-rock" music recorded using MIDI programming. He has served as music consultant for high-school plays and performances, often selecting and editing songs or performing original ones. He has been drummer and percussionist for high-school bands, as well as ocasional disc-jockey. In 2018, he started uploading his musical work on YouTube.

In 2019, Edgar expressed his desire to retire from noise music, in order to put a greater effort on his alternative project My Wrong Note, as well as other more musical future efforts. He plans to release his last Sir Edgar Carpenter album in late 2020, full-fitting 10 years of an uninterrupted noise music career.

Sir Edgar Carpenter is a noise/experimental musician from Mexico City, born in 1994 and working since 2008.

Initially influenced by The Beatles's "Revolution 9", he is relatively known in the internet for his continuous noise and experimental releases. His most known works are a series of albums dedicated to animated TV shows (denominated Killing Cartoon Society's Saga). He's owner of a net-label called Scriptsound Recordings since 2010, and has organized compilation albums with many artists and musicians around the globe. Edgar says he picked up his moniker due to his love to British musical culture, while he took the surname Carpenter as a mock to the British band, The Carpenters, and because he "just liked how it sounded".

His music style has changed over the course of the years, but it's mostly based on transformation of sounds and creating bizarre sound-collages with a "noisy appeal". He puts special emphasis on reverberated sound and a "symphonic-wannabe" structure, frequently trying to avoid monotonous or static noises. Although his primary source of editing and producing music is via laptop (using audio unit effects, samplers, tone generators, granular synthesis, turntable softwares, MIDI sequencers and synthesizers), he has used analogue sounds as basic source material for his noise, such as field-recordings, found objects, handmade instruments, and more prominently, his own voice through multiple effects (a technique he likes to call "Vocal Synthesizers"), as well as real drums and other instruments. He has cited Merzbow, Masonna, Achim Wollscheid, Rudolf Eb.er, Michael Cretu, Vangelis, Frank Zappa, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Yoko Ono and George Harrison's "Electronic Sound" as his strongest influences. He rarely performs live, preferring studio work and collaborative sessions, although in 2011, he performed for an almost-private minitour as a trio consisting on fellow collaborators Sidd Anders and Adolph DicksAppointed (R.I.P.).

Edgar also has a non-noise/experimental side project called My Wrong Note, dedicated to more conventional and commercial "instrumental art-pop-rock" music recorded using MIDI programming. He has served as music consultant for high-school plays and performances, often selecting and editing songs or performing original ones. He has been drummer and percussionist for high-school bands, as well as ocasional disc-jockey. He's also an avid writer, critic and reviewer. In 2018, he started uploading his music on YouTube.

He's always available to work in collaborations, splits, and compilation/remix projects, all for music's sake.

Sir Edgar Carpenter is a noise/experimental musician from Mexico City, born in 1994 and working since 2008.

Initially influenced by The Beatles's "Revolution 9", he is relatively known in the internet for his continuous noise and experimental releases. His most known works are a series of albums dedicated to animated TV shows (denominated Killing Cartoon Society's Saga). He's owner of a net-label called Scriptsound Recordings since 2010, and has organized compilation albums with many artists and musicians around the globe. Edgar says he picked up his moniker due to his love to British musical culture, while he took the surname Carpenter as a mock to the British band, The Carpenters, and because he "just liked how it sounded".

His music style has changed over the course of the years, but it's mostly based on transformation of sounds and creating bizarre sound-collages with a "noisy appeal". He puts special emphasis on reverberated sound and a "symphonic-wannabe" structure, frequently trying to avoid monotonous or static noises. Although his primary source of editing and producing music is via laptop (using audio unit effects, samplers, tone generators, granular synthesis, turntable softwares, MIDI sequencers and synthesizers), he has used analogue sounds as basic source material for his noise, such as field-recordings, found objects, handmade instruments, and more prominently, his own voice through multiple effects (a technique he likes to call "Vocal Synthesizers"), as well as real drums and other instruments. He has cited Merzbow, Masonna, Achim Wollscheid, Rudolf Eb.er, Michael Cretu, Vangelis, Frank Zappa, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Yoko Ono and George Harrison's "Electronic Sound" as his strongest influences. He rarely performs live, preferring studio work and collaborative sessions, although in 2011, he performed for an almost-private minitour as a trio consisting on fellow collaborators Sidd Anders and Adolph DicksAppointed (R.I.P.).

Edgar also has a non-noise/experimental side project called My Wrong Note, dedicated to more conventional and commercial "instrumental art-pop-rock" music recorded using MIDI programming. He has served as music consultant for high-school plays and performances, often selecting and editing songs or performing original ones. He's been drummer and percussionist for high-school bands, as well as ocasional disc-jockey. He's also an avid writer and reviewer. As of 2018, he's considering to open a YouTube channel dedicated to music topics.

He's always available to work in collaborations, splits, and compilation/remix projects, all for music's sake.

Sir Edgar Carpenter is a noise/experimental musician from Mexico City, born in 1994 and working since 2008.

Initially influenced by The Beatles's "Revolution 9", he is relatively known in the internet for his continuous noise and experimental releases. His most known works are a series of albums dedicated to animated TV shows (denominated Killing Cartoon Society's Saga). He's owner of a net-label called Scriptsound Recordings since 2010, and has organized compilation albums with many artists and musicians around the globe. Edgar says he picked up his moniker due to his love to British musical culture, while he took the surname Carpenter as a mock to the British band, The Carpenters, and because he "just liked how it sounded".

His music style has changed over the course of the years, but it's mostly based on transformation of sounds and creating bizarre sound-collages with a "noisy appeal". He puts special emphasis on reverberated sound and a "symphonic-wannabe" structure, frequently trying to avoid monotonous or static noises. Although his primary source of editing and producing music is via laptop (using audio unit effects, samplers, turntable softwares, MIDI sequencers and synthesizers), he has used analogue sounds as basic source material for his noise, such as field-recordings, found objects, handmade instruments, and more prominently, his own voice through multiple effects (a technique he likes to call "Vocal Synthesizers"), as well as real drums. Since early 2016, he's been working with granular synthesis, and as of 2017. He has cited Merzbow, Masonna, Achim Wollscheid, Rudolf Eb.er, Michael Cretu, Vangelis, Frank Zappa, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Yoko Ono and George Harrison's "Electronic Sound" as his strongest influences. Edgar also has a non-noise/experimental side project called My Wrong Note, dedicated to more conventional and commercial "instrumental art-pop-rock" music recorded using MIDI programming. He has served as music consultant for high-school plays and performances, often selecting and editing songs or performing original ones. He's been drummer and percussionist for high-school bands, as well as ocasional disc-jockey. He's also an avid writer and reviewer. As of 2018, he's considering to open a YouTube channel dedicated to music topics.

Although his primary source of editing and producing music is via laptop (using audio unit effects, samplers, turntable softwares, MIDI sequencers and synthesizers), he has used analogue sounds as basic source material for his noise, such as field-recordings, found objects, handmade instruments, and more prominently, his own voice through multiple effects (a technique he likes to call "Vocal Synthesizers"), as well as real drums. Since early 2016, he's been working with granular synthesis. He has cited Merzbow, Masonna, Achim Wollscheid, Rudolf Eb.er, Michael Cretu, Vangelis, Frank Zappa, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Yoko Ono and George Harrison's "Electronic Sound" as his strongest influences. He rarely performs live, preferring studio work and collaborative sessions, although in 2011, he performed for an almost-private minitour as a trio consisting on fellow collaborators Sidd Anders and Adolph DicksAppointed (R.I.P.).

Edgar also has a non-noise/experimental side project called My Wrong Note, dedicated to more conventional and commercial "instrumental art-pop-rock" music recorded using MIDI programming. He has served as music consultant for high-school plays and performances, often selecting and editing songs or performing original ones. He's been drummer and percussionist for high-school bands, as well as ocasional disc-jockey. He's also an avid writer and reviewer.

He's always available to work in collaborations, splits, and compilation/remix projects, all for music's sake.

Sir Edgar Carpenter is a young noise/experimental musician from Mexico City, working since 2008.

Influenced in The Beatles's "Revolution 9", Edgar is known in the internet for his continuing noise and experimental releases, mostly known by a series of albums dedicated to animated TV shows (Killing Cartoon Society's Saga) and protest albums. He's owner of Script Sound Recordings's net-label since 2010.

His working process consists in transformation of music and sounds with extreme recording techniques and audio processing, as well as his Vocal Synthesizers technique (his own voice imitating synthesizer sounds and post-transformed from microphones). He also has a B-side project called My Wrong Note, dedicated to more conventional music recorded using MIDI techinques. He rarely performs live, he prefers studio work and collaborative sessions.

Sir Edgar Carpenter is a young noise/experimental musician from Mexico City, working since 2008.

Influenced in The Beatles's "Revolution 9", Edgar is known in the internet for his continuing noise and experimental releases, mostly known by a series of albums dedicated to animated TV shows (Killing Cartoon Society's Saga) and protest albums. He's owner of Script Sound Recordings's net-label since 2010.

His working process consists in transformation of music and sounds with extreme recording techniques and audio processing, as well as his Vocal Synthesizers technique (his own voice imitating synthesizer sounds and post-transformed from microphones). He also has a B-side project called My Wrong Note, dedicated to more conventional music recorded using MIDI techinques. He rarely performs live, he prefers studio work and collaborative sessions.

He's always available to work in collaborations, splits, and compilation/remix projects.

Sir Edgar Carpenter is a young noise/experimental musician from Mexico City, working since 2008.

Influenced in The Beatles's "Revolution 9", Edgar is known in the internet for his continuing noise and experimental releases, mostly known by a series of albums dedicated to animated TV shows (Killing Cartoon Society's Saga) and protest albums. He's owner of Script Sound Recordings's net-label since 2010.

His working process consists in transformation of music and sounds with extreme recording techniques and audio processing, as well as his Vocal Synthesizers technique (his own voice imitating synthesizer sounds and post-transformed from microphones). He also has a B-side project called My Wrong Note, dedicated to more conventional music recorded using MIDI techinques. He rarely performs live, he prefers studio work and collaborative sessions.

He's always available to work in collaborations, splits, and compilation/remix projects.

MrCarpenter:

Sir Edgar Carpenter is a young noise/experimental musician from Mexico City, working since 2008, principally on music transformations.

Influenced in The Beatles's "Revolution 9", Edgar is known in the internet for his continuing noise and experimental releases, mostly known by a series of albums dedicated to animated TV shows (Killing Cartoon Society's Saga) and protest albums.

He's owner of Script Sound Recordings's net-label since 2010, and also has a side net-label, Statika Records. He is very well known by his working process, consisting in transformation of music and sounds in a heavy way, and because of his Vocal Synthesizers technique (his own voice imitating synthesizer sounds and post-transformed from microphones).

He belongs to the Ruido Latino's social network, and he's already known as one of the most important experimental projects from Mexico, and Latin America. He's always available to work in collaborations, splits, and compilation/remix projects.

From January to April 2013, Sir Edgar Carpenter left his activities due to his personal obligations.
His comeback album is set to be released in May 2013.

Experimental music is a broad term defining all forms of post-classical music and even [[non-music]]. Experimental music is characterized by the use of [[extended technique]] in playing of musical instruments, invention of new musical instruments, [[song structures]] and [[musical scales]]. [[Noise]] falls under the category of experimental music, even though it is not necessarily music by standard definitions.

== History of Experimental Music ==
Many consider the most important experimental musician to be John Cage, although experimental music can be traced back much farther to [[Dada]] and [[Futurism]]. Some argue that experimental music became most popularized with several albums by late rock musicians. Often cited is the album Metal Machine Music by Lou Reed.

== Is Experimental Music Dead? ==
Some feel that experimental music is "dead" since the techniques and styles developed by early experimental artists have become so common that they are no [[longer]] innovations. There have never been many experimental musicians because in order for them to be called such they must experiment and find new methods of creating sound. Many genres were once experimental, like [[Math Rock]] and [[Industrial]] but are now more widespread, thus losing, in the minds of some, the right to be called experimental. Despite this, "experimental" is a word that is still generally used as an umbrella term to describe anything non-traditional in art and music.
