Biography

Completely Gone Recordings is a California-based experimental music label and audio / visual studio that was founded in 1988, by the American musician, artist and engineer Josh McCurdy (Kosmik Leprechaun). It originally operated under the name Hot Damn! Tapes and released around 30 homemade cassettes, as well as a few CDr's, on a localized level, until 2005. All of these early releases were created by Josh and / or his peers. The name was switched to Completely Gone Recordings when it began operating online in 2006. At that point, the label began working with artists across the globe. CGR merged with the Dutch noise label Takkeherrie Recordings in 2018 (originally founded in 2006, by Ruben de Haan), reissuing many classic CGR titles on that label since. Approximately 400 individual releases have been published by CGR, thus far.
