Biography

Emiliano Pietrini is a composer and multi-instrumentalist born in Livorno, Italy, in 1973. After some experiences as a bass player, guitarist and singer in various bands from the Tuscan area mainly dedicated to psychedelic rock with noise and jazz influences, in 2001, together with Fabrizio Barsanti which ceased the collaboration back in 2012, he founded and conceived the experimental musical project "Globoscuro", an emotional sculpture through the notes which molds and carves, like a river of lava, swirling sonic elements who build its complex and dynamic individuality albeit drawing source and inspiration from various sound contexts such as musique concrète, dark ambient, abstraction, electronic, industrial, field recordings, free jazz, psychedelia, noise etc.

Globoscuro represent the synthesis and concreteness of a renovated "vision", at times extreme and absolutely intimate, yet soaked in the emotional matter of the universe. The notes stir, twist, intertwine in frantic dances and then embrace instants of cosmic isolationism …. ushed voluptuousness …. unconventional instruments that walk hostile while entangling sounds stolen from the poetry of life …. electro-acoustic and digital paradoxes evolving into an orchestra eager to destroy the strings of it's own violin .... Globoscuro is, in short, an extreme verb that vibrates mercilessly revealing the distressing cries of a cosmic circle consumed in a perilous path carpeted with thorns and quicksand.

As Globoscuro he published 26 albums (some of them in collaboration with other Artists) and took part in numerous compilations and collaborations with other artists for theater, live performances, art exhibitions, artistic events, video-art and short films. He is also co-founder, together with Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt and Angel Sanchez Cervera, of the recording label Hortus Conclusus Records and co-founder, together with Edoardo Pistolesi Somigli (Edø Pistø Sømi), of the experimental music project Corruttela.
