Biography

Kosmik Leprechaun (aka The Song Cycle, Kisama!, Kosmische Clutharachán, etc.) is the main pet-project of the American musician, artist and engineer Josh McCurdy and has been musically active since 1988. However, he didn't take making solo music seriously until 1995, after the demise of his previous band, Moldy Ghetto. Kosmik Leprechaun began as a psychedelic indie project, known as The Song Cycle. The name changed many times over the years, but has always encompassed essentially the same ideas. The earliest KL music was recorded on 4-track cassette machines, until 2003, when he began experimenting heavily with synthesizers, sequencers and digital editing. KL has collaborated with many musicians and artists who have been featured in his work. Each album varies in style from the previous. Some of it is serious, with emphasis on established genres. Other times, his music is chaotic and silly. The majority of his music is published on his label Completely Gone Recordings.
