The Black Scorpio Underground

The Black Scorpio Underground is a Noisecore band based in Long Beach, California. As of december 2010, they have 3 full length Cds and 5 split releases.They are credited with coining a new sub-genre of noise music they call "Ambient Grind" which contains elements of extreme noise, Grindcore, looped samples, heavily distorted vocals and traditional intrumentation. The range of B.S.U.'s music is varied, and can include spoken word and even Mansonesque Neo-folk acoustic ballads. Lyrically, subject matter dwells mostly on the band's obsession with cults, extreme left wing political groups, post beat poetry, serial murder and gore movies. Founder Joe Truck has also played in projects over the years with members of Chop Shop, Braineaters, Scarecrow, Swans, Samhain, Even Worse, Missing Foundation and Damage.
